Things aren't looking good for the Denver Broncos.
The past few days have been a whirlwind of emotions with events that will have a huge impact on the 2023 NFL season.
From Tim Patrick tearing his achilles, Uwaziruke being suspended and potentially facing jail time, to now yet another injury on the team.
Last season, a big part of the Broncos' inability to succeed was that they'd faced one of the nastier injury bugs across the league. Before the season had even begun, Tim Patcik was out with a torn ACL, Jerry Jeudy missed time for an ankle injury, and KJ Hamler had been unavailable.
Then, during the season, this is a sample of all the injuries the team had faced: Javonte Williams, Garett Boles, Cam Fleming, Billy Turner, Graham Glasgow, Justin Simmons, Caden Sterns, Randy Gregory, Baron Browning, and K'Waun Williams
Each player missed at least some time.
While there were other factors at play, including Russell Wilson seemingly forgetting how to throw the football, injuries played a crucial part in the team's derailment. Now, it doesn't look like things are getting much better in that category.
Aside from Patrick, the team has had a huge question mark surrounding rookie Riley Moss. Now, we finally have some answers. Ryan Edwards, the sports talk radio host for KOA Colorado, reported that Moss had core muscle repair surgery and would be out for about 4 weeks.
Moss' absence makes sense in why the organization made the roster move to bring in Fabian Moreau. Adam Holt from AtoZ Sports reported that "The Broncos may be trying to simply add depth at CB. On the other hand, rookie cornerback Riley Moss has missed some time during training camp so far. His absence yesterday was due to illness, though."
Moreau will add valuable experience and provide some competition for the CB depth chart in Denver. Fans were hoping they'd get to see Moss come in and compete, he's going to need to focus on getting healthy first.
