This is not good news for a former Cleveland Browns’ cornerback, who could now be in some serious legal trouble.

11-year NFL veteran Buster Skrine has been arrested after an investigation into some major alleged crimes.

Skrine reportedly obtained more than $100K from multiple banks throughout Canada. The ex-NFL cornerback is accused of saying he was a retired NFL player and opening bank accounts with fraudulent checks. Following that, Skrine would get a portion of the money before the check cleared.

It is believed that Skrine did this across the Durham Region in Canada, as well as multiple other places across Canada.

In 2011, the Browns selected Skrine in the fifth-round of the NFL Draft. Skrine played all four years of his rookie contract in Cleveland and had six of his 10 interceptions with the Browns.

Skrine last played in 2021 in seven games between the Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers.

Overall, Skrine is facing 14 criminal charges from fraud to possession of property obtained by crime.
