The Chicago Bears are spending their time wisely at the NFL’s Scouting Combine. The Bears’ brass has met with a handful of the draft’s top prospects, including star linebacker out of Alabama, Will Anderson.

After his interview with Chicago, Anderson spoke highly of what the Bears seem to be building under the direction of general manager Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus.

“It went really good,” Anderson said of his meeting. “I went in there, watched a couple of tapes, (they) really just got to know me, (I) got to know them. And the culture is great there and I can that they’re on to something special.”

The Bears have plenty of options with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, including plenty of exciting trade-back scenarios. When asked about Chicago spending the top pick on Anderson, his face lit up with a smile.

“It would mean a lot. All my hard work paying off. Just to have that spot, it’s big time. I’d be really appreciative of that opportunity.”

The good thing for Chicago is that Anderson will likely be available even if Poles elects to move back in the draft. Should the Bears trade back and land Anderson, Chicago would come out as the biggest winner in Day 1 of the draft.
