The Denver Broncos just hired a completely new staff to help Sean Payton turn this thing around, like most of us believe he can. The main priority was to get guys on the offensive side of the ball that can fit with Russell Wilson.

Then they got a great defensive staff too, an aspect of their game that was great last year, even in a bad season. Vance Joseph, a former Broncos head coach, is going to be running things on offense.

He is highly respected around the league as a defensive guy who knows what he's doing, and a guy that players love to play for.

"I always liked him," Chris Harris Jr. said. "Surtain will love him and play great under him. He'll be great for what they need and he'll give defensive backs a chance to make plays. If he does well, he'll get a chance to be a head coach again."

He said it perfectly, Surtain will love him too. That's one of the most important things in bringing in Vance Joseph. The Broncos wanted, and needed, a guy who would maximize his best payers on that side of the ball.

It appears Joseph will do just that. In 2018, when he was the Broncos' head coach, Harris Jr. made the Pro Bowl after not making it the season before.

Surtain is already one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, if not the best, so it will be interesting to see how much better he can get with a guy like Joseph in charge of the defense.
