2The Dallas Cowboys have holes to fill this offseason. That is especially true for a team looking to get over the hump and make the next step in the NFL Playoffs.
Wide receiver and cornerback are widely considered to be the two biggest needs on the roster. And it's difficult to argue either. The Cowboys certainly need help at both spots and should address them through the draft and free agency.
Linebacker is another position of need for the Cowboys. Especially since Leighton Vander Esch is one of multiple linebackers on the roster set to hit the open market. Dallas needs bodies at that spot to allow Micah Parsons to thrive at edge.
Fortunately, there is very intriguing — and successful — linebacker that just became available. Super Bowl champion Bobby Wagner was released by the Los Angeles Rams this week, opening the door for the Cowboys and other teams to strike.
Cowboys should add key veteran

Bobby Wagner to the Dallas Cowboys makes a lot of sense on paper. Wagner thrived when playing for Dan Quinn with the Seattle Seahawks. That familiarity has to be attractive to the veteran defender that is now looking for a new home.
Wagner knows the scheme very well. Additionally, he showed that he still has some talent left in the tank last season by starting all 17 games for the Rams. That makes him an ideal target for the Cowboys as they look to build on the success that they have enjoyed on that side of the ball.
Furthermore, Wagner wants to contribute to a winning team next season. The Cowboys would be able to offer the six-time first-team All-Pro linebacker with the opportunity to make a significant impact for a contending team.
There has to be some level of attraction to playing alongside Parsons and Trevon Diggs in the defense. Especially since Wagner knows what to expect when playing for Quinn.
Bobby Wagner must be a priority target this offseason if the money is right. He would fill an immediate need and bring a championship mindset to the Dallas Cowboys.
