The NFL's free agency frenzy has begun, and the Cincinnati Bengals haven't wasted any time bringing back an in-house veteran.

On Monday, the Bengals re-signed safety, Michael Thomas to a one-year deal.

This is the second consecutive one-year contract for Thomas with the Bengals.

Thomas signed to the Bengals' practice squad in October 2021 before being elevated to the active roster that November and he's been a steady contributor ever since.

Not only does Thomas provide depth at safety and a presence on special teams (logged 431 snaps the last two seasons), but he's a leader in the locker room seeing as he was a team captain in 2022.

This news isn't as big as safeties Jesse Bates or Vonn Bell coming back to Cincinnati, but it is a valuable one.
