Jarrett Stidham's contract details emerge in free agency deal with Broncos
The Broncos have their backup.
The Denver Broncos spent some money on a backup quarterback this free agency.
Per Ian Rapoport, Jarrett Stidham is signing a 2-year, $10 million deal with the Broncos. The deal includes $5 million guaranteed and $4 million more in upside.
Here is how the contract breaks down annually:
$2 million signing bonus
$5 million total guaranteed
The 2023 base ($2 million) is fully guaranteed, and $1 million of the 2024 base ($4.49 million) is fully guaranteed. $510 in per-game roster bonuses in 2023, per Doug Kyed of A to Z Sports.
The Broncos had Brett Rypien as their backup quarterback last season, who played when Wilson was hurt. While Wilson wasn't great, Rypien was worse. It will be nice to have a guy like Stidham backing Wilson up just in case.
Not to mention he has known the quarterbacks' coach Davis Webb since he was a teenager.
