One day after losing David Long Jr. in free agency to the Miami Dolphins, the Tennessee Titans are expected to sign LB Azeez Al-Shaair to a contract.

Al-Shaair was an undrafted free agent that was signed by the San Francisco 49ers back in 2019 when Titans GM Ran Carthon was in the front office working on collegiate scouting and free agency.

Carthon is obviously familiar with Al-Shaair's abilities and how his skillset can fit within the Titans' offense. Al-Shaair had 102 tackles and nine tackles for loss in 2021, but missed significant time in 2022 with a torn MCL in his right knee.

Alongside Dre Greenlaw and Fred Warner, Al-Shaair has been a part of one of the best linebacker rooms in the league for the last four seasons. Al-Shaair has had experience playing all three linebacker positions in the 49ers defense and got in on over 1,500 defensive snaps over his four-year NFL career.

He will now be afforded the opportunity to play regular snaps and step in as a key member of the Titans' 2023 defense.
