The Dallas Cowboys have used the offseason to fill some key roster needs ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft. That includes swinging trades for wide receiver Brandin Cooks and cornerback Stephon Gilmore.

Both Cooks and Gilmore provide immediate upgrades at two of the biggest question marks from last year's team. However, there is still work for the front office to complete to really round out the squad.

Offensive line is one position where Dallas can continue to add talent at. And it just so happens that TCU offensive lineman Steve Avila could the perfect fit for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL Draft.

Connor McGovern signed with the Buffalo Bills in free agency, leaving a hole at guard. Additionally, Terence Steele is coming off a season-ending injury. While he is expected to be fine, adding insurance in the trenches is never a bad idea.

That is where Avila fits in. Avila was a key part of TCU's magical run to the national championship game last fall while blocking for a potent offense. He has positional versatility along the offensive line, able to play guard or center and experience at all five positions.

Furthermore, Avila is considered a top-50 prospect in this year's draft class. Dane Brugler of The Athletic considers the TCU product to be one of the top linemen that will be selected next month.

The unsung hero of a TCU squad that advanced to the national championship, Steve Avila is a wide-bodied blocker and pulls rushers into his tractor beam with his ability to engulf at the point of attack. He needs added consistency to access his explosive power, but he has a strong base and legitimate position flexibility at guard or center.

Dallas has already met with Avila in the pre-draft process. Which may indicate some level of interest from the Cowboys.

Adding Avila to the roster would give a needed boost to the Cowboys up front. He could fill multiple roles and give the Cowboys options at the line of scrimmage as they find the best five out to protect Dak Prescott.

Winning the trenches plays a big difference in winning and losing games in the NFL. Steve Avila is ready-made to give the Dallas Cowboys yet another premier blocker up front.
