The Denver Broncos head coach sees a lot of similarities between his team and the Denver Nuggets who are in the NBA Finals.

We have said this before, but if you are a fan of the Denver Broncos and you live in the area or close to them, you are probably a fan of the Denver Nuggets too, who have the two-time MVP in Nikola Jokic, and are three wins away from being NBA Champions for the first time in franchise history.

On Thursday the Broncos' new head coach Sean Payton described some similarities he sees between his group and the Nuggets.

"Your star players are unselfish and I feel like it's a team that enjoys each other," Payton said to the media. "And I'm going to guess that they probably do things together off the court and I don't know that that's the case with every team. Literally last week, I was just having a conversation with Mike about something else, you know, and then the subject came up, I asked the question, how do you like to match up with the heat? And he mentioned the culture of both teams. And I think, yeah, I think you see that with our team and I think you see it from the Heat as well. So look, that's why [they're] the last two teams remaining. But from a beginner's perspective when I watch them you feel that and that's impressive."

For the Nuggets, they have built something they could end up having for a while. The way this Finals run has gone, they are going to be set up to compete for a while, and a large part of it is because of the culture they have set, and their stars being unselfish – all of the things Payton listed.

If he sees some of those same characteristics already in a team he just inherited, then they are already ahead in the process. This team has been losing for a while now, and when you take over a team like that, they can oftentimes have a bad culture.

Losing creates bad culture, but the Broncos apparently don't have that, which is special. They want to build for the future and become a team like the Nuggets who kind of shocks everyone but themselves, and is going to be good enough to stick around for a while. Payton believes they have that part down, and fans should love hearing that.
