The Buffalo Bills made a major move this week. They addressed a big need by adding veteran pass rusher Leonard Floyd on a one-year deal. In seven NFL seasons, Floyd has compiled 47.5 sacks and 338 tackles.

Floyd's contract details have also been released. The Bills certainly structured his contract in a way to keep his cap hit for 2023 quite low. Floyd's cap charge is just $2,623,750 this season.

  • Signing bonus: $5.835M
  • Salary: $1.165M (guaranteed)
  • Incentives: Up to $2M
  • Max value: $9M

The deal comes with three void years following 2023. As of right now, his cap hit for the Bills in 2024 will be $4,376,250. He won't be playing for the Bills in 2024 under this deal, though.

All in all, Buffalo made a smart move to address their edge rush. Look for him and Von Miller to be an important combo during any sort of playoff run for the Bills.
