The Tennessee Titans got themselves a rookie quarterback in Will Levis in this year's draft. It happened in a bit of a surprising manner, though. There was lots of chatter around Levis in round one before the draft began.

The Colts at pick four and the Titans at pick 11 seemed like likely destinations. Indy chose Anthony Richardson instead, and the Titans took offensive lineman Peter Skoronski. That began the fall for Levis as he made it into the second round.

It sounds like the Titans attempted to trade back up into the first round for Levis, according to Daniel Jeremiah. Tennessee reportedly contacted Buffalo, Kansas City, and New York about a deal.

This isn't surprising for the Titans. The reports were consistent before the draft that the organization was a big fan of Levis and C.J. Stroud.

Picking him in the second round wasn't a backup plan – as the Titans did everything they could to get Levis into the building.
