Chicago Bears third-round pick DT Zacch Pickens is already becoming a fan favorite without having a single NFL snap under his belt.
The Bears held rookie minicamp over the weekend where fans and coaches both got their first look at some of the newest additions to the team. Pickens had a unique experience while heading to minicamp as he joined former Bears defensive lineman Anthony “Spice” Adams Jr.
Spice Adams shared some words of wisdom with Pickens, who just so happens to figure in at the same position Adams was slotted in during his time with the team from 2007-2011.
Pickens mentioned how being in Chicago for rookie minicamp was actually the first time he had visited the city.
“I've never been to Chicago. I listen all the Chicago rappers,” Pickens said with a laugh. “I listen to (Lil) Durk, all of them.”
Though he might be new to Chicago, he’s well aware of the long-standing rivalry the Bears have with the Green Bay Packers, or “the green team” as Adams so perfectly put it. Pickens response was short and sweet.
“I hate them.”
First impressions are everything and Pickens is knocking his out of the park.
Pickens not only seems to be making his presence known off the field, but he was drafted to be an anchor in the middle of Matt Eberflus’ defense. A run-stuffer in his college days at South Carolina, Pickens aims to make an immediate impact during his rookie campaign in 2023.
