The first puzzle piece of the Chicago Bears’ 2023 schedule has been placed.

The Bears will play the Green Bay Packers, according to The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.

That means Chicago will play eight games at Soldier Field and nine games on the road. With the 17-game schedule, each NFC team will play nine games away from home this season, as it alternates between conferences each year.

The rest of the Bears’ 2023 schedule will be officially announced Thursday at 8 p.m. ET.

The Bears will reportedly bookend their season with Green Bay. Not only does Chicago host the Packers to kick off the Jordan Love era in Green Bay, but the Bears will close the regular season out at Lambeau Field.

Chicago improved in all sorts of different areas this offseason. The Bears strengthened the middle of their defense with free agent signings such as Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards.

The Bears also added talented pass-catchers in WR D.J. Moore and TE Robert Tonyan to give Justin Fields an opportunity to succeed. Chicago also added 10 draft picks who will help solidify depth at positions of need.
