In the AFC East, even after years of dominance from the Buffalo Bills, Aaron Rodgers will own the spotlight entering the 2023 NFL season. The brand-new New York Jets quarterback is expected to shake things up as he joins a team that made opponents suffer even without a solidified starting signal-caller under center.

But the Bills have been around for a few years now. They're among the NFL elite. Something's got to give. The latest news means we won't have to wait too long to get an idea of how things will go: The Jets are hosting the Bills for the first Monday Night Football of the season!

Without a doubt, the NFL hit it out of the park with the decision and announcement. AFC East football is about to be an absolute blast. And we won't have to wait for the match-up why!

Last year, the Jets handed the Bills their second loss of the season in a mostly defensive match-up in New Jersey that ended 20-17. When it was time for the rematch, the Bills got the last laugh. But even that wasn't an easy game at all as they edged out a 20-12 win.

This season's Week 1 doesn't sound as much like a defensive slugfest.

After all, it's going to be Aaron Rodgers vs. Josh Allen. I can already visualize the hype videos to sell it leading up to Monday Night. Fans are going to get quick answers about the state of the AFC East right away.

The game will take place on September 11th and is one of the first-known games of the season. The league will release its full schedule on Thursday night. So far, we know the Bills will take on the Jets in Week 1 and they'll head to London to "host" the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5.
