The Chicago Bears’ 2023 schedule was released on Thursday night along with the rest of the NFL. The Bears will finish the season just as they start it with matchups against the rival Green Bay Packers to bookend the year, which just feels so perfect.
The Packers don’t quite look as intimidating as they have for the past decade or so. That has to do with Chicago’s kryptonite Aaron Rodgers playing for a different green team in 2023 – the New York Jets.
Jordan Love opens his first season as the full time starter on the road as the Bears are set to play host to the cheese team in Week 1. It’s perhaps the best time to face the Packers as Love will likely still be working out the kinks under center.
On the Bears side of things, newly signed tight end Robert Tonyan will square off against his former employer. Bears quarterback Justin Fields will look to start the season on the right foot with his new cast of pass-catchers.
Chicago closes out the campaign with a matchup at Lambeau Field. It’s a game Bears fans hope will carry postseason implications. It also provides an opportunity for Chicago to leave Green Bay with a sour taste in its mouth for the entirety of the offseason.
The NFL is wasting no time as a new chapter is set to begin in the league’s oldest rivalry. The Bears are ripe to make some noise in the 2023 season with a new roster filled with expensive talent. Getting by Green Bay in the season opener will set the tone for the rest of the season.
