This time of year, when teams are releasing videos to go with their schedules for the upcoming season, is one of the funniest times of the year when it comes to the NFL offseason. This year was no different, as some teams struck gold on their social media videos.
The Tennessee Titans asked local fans on Broadway to name the teams they were playing by showing them the other teams logo, and the answers they got were hilarious. The New York Jets had a guy guess the exact location of their 2023 opponents based on seeing a picture of a location for not even a full second. One of the Raiders biggest rivals in the Chargers had a pretty good one too, besides one part.
Last year the Chargers did some things with their schedule video and some other videos by using anime for their opponents. This year was the same, only they sent some shots at Raiders fans in their video, only you have to dig kind of deep to find it out.
The video starts by showing anime Josh McDaniels doing a slot machine and getting three of the same logo, which says "Garoppolo." Then a ticket voucher pops out of a printer that has a QR code on it and the ticket says how much Garoppolo's contract is. Someone on Twitter did a little dogging, and if you scan that QR code it pops up a website they created asking if you are a Chargers fan or a Raiders fan.
If you click on the Raiders fan part, it takes you to another website, and this is where things get crazy. After that, it takes you to a google screen that tells you "how to get a job." While, yes, they are poking fun at Raiders fans, it was also very clever.
The only way to kind of show them up though, is to go out and beat the Chargers. Lets hope they can do that.
