Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel isn't Steve Spurrier or Lane Kiffin. He doesn't try to generate headlines with controversial comments.

But Heupel couldn't help but to talk a little trash on Thursday at SEC Media Days in Nashville.

Heupel was asked about the Texas Longhorns joining the SEC in 2024 and who "the real UT is".

Tennessee's third year head coach didn't hesitate with his answer.

"There's only one real UT and only one real right shade of orange," said a grinning Heupel.

Tennessee and Texas will likely play in 2025, which will be the second season the Longhorns are in the SEC (Tennessee plays Oklahoma in 2024).

That matchup should certainly have plenty of hype as it will certainly be billed as the battle to determine the real UT.

I'm sure Heupel hopes his words on Thursday don't come back to haunt the Vols, though he'd be the first to tell you that 2025 is a long way away.
