The return of Von Miller may be closer than the Bills Mafia initially thought.
Miller is known for exciting the fan base with his sometimes over-the-top optimism. Bills Mafia remembers all too well that, before officially being diagnosed with a torn ACL, Miller was anticipating being back in a few weeks after his Thanksgiving day injury against the Lions.
Miller has been embraced by the city of Buffalo and has once again sent a message that's quickly taken the internet by storm.
Miller, during his pass rush summit in Las Vegas, spoke to reporters and the media about his road to recovery and what it looks like for him to return to the field. Not surprisingly, Miller was incredibly optimistic.
When speaking to Ryan O’Halloran of the Buffalo News this weekend, Miller opened up about his recovery and timeline to return. The superstar pass rusher wasted no time with an unprecedented announcement.
"I have good information from my doctor, and my knee is all healed up"
It cannot be overstated how big of a long shot it is that Miller will be able to start the season off the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list, he's doing everything he can to be at a place to help his team win.
"It’s all about me and how confident I can be [over] the next three months.
The veteran ended his interview with a statement that should have every member of the Bills Mafia ready to run through a brick wall. "I’m going to work as hard as I can. Whether I’m ready to go in Week 1 or not, I’m at peace because I know I’m doing everything I can to have success."
Miller is an incredible athlete and perhaps an even better leader for the football team. The Bills Mafia should be celebrating that one of the biggest assets on the roster is fighting to be back by week one.
McDermott and the Bills' front office have taken their time getting players back into the lineup, we can't imagine they are anything less than ecstatic to hear that Miller's knee is healed up.
Now, all we can do is wait.
