2024 five-star wide receiver Mike Matthews is one of the Tennessee Vols' top recruiting targets.

Matthews, 6-foot-1/180 lbs from Lilburn, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 3 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia. He's also rated as the No. 9 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class.

The highly coveted five-star recruit was at Tennessee this past weekend for an official visit.

On Monday, Matthews posted a tweet of himself with Vols head coach Josh Heupel during his recent visit to UT.

"Thank you Vol Football for the amazing experience and hospitality in Rocky Top!" wrote Matthews.

According to On3, the Vols are "trending" for Matthews.

Matthews told 247Sports after his visit that he's heading "toward the commitment phase" of his recruitment.

The Vols are battling several top programs for Matthews, including Clemson, Georgia, and USC.

Anything can happen in recruiting, but it certainly appears that Tennessee is in a good spot in this key recruiting battle.
