The Dallas Cowboys have earned the reputation as one of the best drafting teams in the NFL. Dallas has a proven track record of adding elite talent in the first-round, but the Cowboys have also found success in the later rounds, too.

Dak Prescott is the prime example of that. The franchise quarterback was selected late in the fourth-round of the 2016 NFL Draft. Since then, he has not looked back with America's Team.

But it's more than just Prescott, who is the obvious headliner. ESPN recently ranked the top-50 NFL Draft steals over the past 10 years, and the list is littered with Dallas Cowboys selections. Which backs up the notion that Will McClay is among the best in the league.

Prescott lands at No. 6 in the rankings and is the first of three Cowboys players on the list. ESPN considers the Dallas quarterback one of the best draft values of the last decade, highlighted by his star rookie season.

After a preseason injury to then-starter Tony Romo, Prescott claimed the job as a rookie and never looked back. The fourth-rounder was Dallas' first rookie starting quarterback since Quincy Carter in 2001, and he won Offensive Rookie of the Year along with helping the franchise secure the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs joins Prescott in the rankings. The 2020 second-round draft pick has emerged as the best ball hawking corner in football with a first-team All-Pro honor to his name.

His talent was evident, but his technique needed work. But those reliable hands and instincts turned Diggs into a second-round star for the Dallas secondary. He knows how to create turnovers, and that was on full display during a breakout 2021 season. Diggs posted a franchise record-tying 11 interceptions.

Finally, DeMarcus Lawrence rounds out the trio of Cowboys that ESPN included in the exercise. Lawrence has become a Pro Bowler in Dallas and a key component of the Cowboys' defense since joining America's Team.

After just two seasons at Boise State, Lawrence landed in the second round and served as a reserve in his rookie year. He took over a full-time starting role in Year 2 and became a consistent presence off the edge for Dallas. Lawrence is a strong and explosive edge rusher who has a knack for generating pressure. He had six sacks and 41 pressures in 2022.

All of this is further evidence that the Dallas Cowboys know how to crush the draft and find excellent value. It is clear that the Cowboys have been robbing the rest of the league over the last 10 years.
