Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has won two Super Bowl MVPs in the last three years. 

Despite that historic accomplishment, the superstar quarterback is dealing with a false narrative that just won't seem to go away. 

Last week, former NFL Pro Bowl quarterback Carson Palmer suggested that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is better than Mahomes. It's a debate that's been popping up quite a bit over the last year.

Palmer's reasoning is that Burrow is more consistent than Mahomes, despite evidence that says the opposite. 

I'm not sure where Palmer's idea that Burrow is more consistent than Mahomes comes from. There's nothing to indicate that Mahomes has been anything but consistent during his NFL career.

A graphic that NFL Network displayed on Monday morning while discussing the Mahomes vs Burrow debate confirms that this narrative surrounding Mahomes/Burrow is absolutely ridiculous. 

The graphic shows Mahomes' stats through his first 49 games compared to Burrow's stats through his first 49 games (including playoffs). 

And it's not even close. 

Mahomes had a far better win percentage, he passed for more yards per game, tossed 31 more touchdown passes, and had 10 fewer interceptions. 

Burrow is a great player. He has the potential to win Super Bowl MVPs and league MVPs. But this isn't a debate — Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL. 

And as much as I've grown to hate this phrase, it's not particularly close.
