Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is quickly establishing himself as one of the premier players at his position in the NFL. He has been selected to two Pro Bowl in his three-year career, and he earned All-Pro honors for this past season.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding Lamb and his trajectory with the Cowboys. Especially with veteran Brandin Cooks being added to the equation. That will have the chance to unlock his game even further with Dak Prescott.
Expectations continue to rise for Lamb. Interestingly enough, arguably the top wide receiver prospect in the 2023 NFL Draft class is drawing comparisons to the Cowboys' star.
ESPN NFL Draft analyst has been tasked with giving pro comparisons for his first-round graded prospects. His top-ranked receiver is Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Miller sees Lamb when he watches the former Buckeyes pass catcher.
Comp: CeeDee Lamb
Miller describes JSN are a receiver that always finds a way to get open, despite how the defense plays him. He is not a burner and isn't the most impressive athlete in the draft, but he produces. That sounds like Lamb.
Smith-Njigba finished the 2021 season with a record-setting Rose Bowl appearance (347 receiving yards, three TDs) but was hampered by a hamstring injury in 2022, limiting him to just five catches and 43 yards. It makes for a fascinating evaluation, but the 6-foot-1, 196-pound Smith-Njigba can still find himself in the top 15 picks. He shows excellent concentration and body control, and he can still get open even when the defense is keyed to stop him.
The comparison makes sense for multiple reasons. For their playing styles and for the fact that they have very similar measurables. The two wideouts even tested nearly identical at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Smith-Njigba is widely expected to be the first receiver taken in April — and for good reason. Especially since he is being compared to CeeDee Lamb.
More interestingly, JSN is a native of Rockwall in the DFW Metroplex and recently met with the Cowboys. Perhaps Dallas is preparing for the possibility of having two CeeDee Lambs in their offense. That would be fun.
