The Buffalo Bills and DeAndre Hopkins rumors are alive and well once again.
The superstar wide reciever went viral a few weeks ago after it was reported that the Arizona Cardinals would be willing to trade the talented wide reciever. Buffalo, quickly, was a top landing spot for Hopkins.
From there, more reports and rumors spread like wildfire across the national media. Hopkins himself even stoked the flame with an Instagram post that mentioned Buffalo by name.
In the span of a few days, the Bills Mafia was clamoring for Brandon Beane to make a move and trade for the talented reciever. The thought of a Bills offense with Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, and DeAndre Hopkins is a nightmare for any opposing defense.
Since then, things have died down until now. It appears, from a series of reports, that DeAndre Hopkins may in fact be dropped from the Arizona Cardinals. While highly unlikely, it resurrects the Hopkins to Buffalo hype train once again.
Arizona had a sky-high asking price when looking at what other players of similar caliber were going for on the market. With teams, seemingly, unable to meet the demands the rumors began swirling of Hopkins being potentially dropped from the Cardinals. While Arizona would be on the hook for a large portion of his remaining contract, it would allow Hopkins to re-negotiate with teams on a new deal. This could be a blessing or curse for Buffalo with the current, difficult, cap situation they find themselves in.
With the draft rapidly approaching we may see Arizona come down on its asking price in order to put itself in a more favorable position in terms of the draft capital it'd be able to obtain.
One thing is for certain, if the price is right Brandon Beane is going to at least be making a call.
For now, we'll just wait until the smoke settles and the dust clears to figure out where Hopkins lands, if anywhere.
Bills Mafia, buckle up, the offseason is starting to get crazy.
