Of course, the goal in the NFL, for any team, is to get the best players available in the draft. Well, sometimes those guys don't come from big-name schools.

The Cincinnati Bengals are pounding the pavement for one of those potential diamonds in the rough. Cornerback, Da'Meak Brandon of Limestone College was recently at the Bengals' local day for draft prospects, and the team's staff is liking what they see.

Brandon grew up in Cincinnati and went to La Salle High School. He appeared in nine games for Rhode Island in 2019 but only put up three tackles.

After attending Rhode Island, Brandon came to Limestone. He amassed 33 tackles, an interception, six pass breakups, and a forced fumble in 2022.

Versatility is what stands out with Brandon, having played all over the defensive backfield. That's something that Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo loves and is a big reason why the team went out and got safety Nick Scott to pair with Dax Hill.

In a recent interview with NFL Draft Diamonds, Brandon talked about what schemes he likes to play the most.

"I like man-to-man and zone defense," Brandon said. "I’m very good at man coverage but it’s also fun to play zone to get interceptions and that’s what I’m good at."

Brandon may have to wait until after the draft to get picked up by a team. However, the Bengals wouldn't be doing this much checking up on him if they didn't think he could contribute, so Brandon is a name to keep an eye on.
