The Denver Broncos needed a guy at the cornerback position, but was he worth it? Iowa defensive back Riley Moss seems to think he brings traits that make him worth the Broncos' 83rd pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

They needed a cornerback badly because of how their room looked. Of the guys on their roster that were starting caliber, it was really just Patrick Surtain, Williams, and Mathis. Now you can add Moss to that list, who is a guy that can play safety if needed, he can play nickel or slot, and he can also play on the outside.

He has the physical tools, as he is a lot faster than people may think. But he also is able to locate the ball in the air and has great awareness.

But, there is one other thing Moss said that makes him worth the pick. There is something that he does that he feels makes him different.

"Playing in the Big 10, you have to be a physical DB," Moss started. "I think I'm a physical DB… I'm instinctive. I'm just a ball player all around"

The instinctive part is true, as he had seven interceptions in his college career, and a ton of passes deflected. He played for a team that is known for their defense, and he is right, when it comes to defense and defensive backs, it seems like the Big 10 is the conference that produces some great day-two guys.

Moss will be a guy that will have to use his instincts. Sure, he has the physical tools as we said earlier, but the athletes he will go against in the NFL will be far better than the ones he played against in college.
