The Cincinnati Bengals have a few holes to fill offensively this week during the NFL draft.
Getting offensive line help and another tight end have probably been the most talked about. However, with the uncertainty of Joe Mixon's future, running back is certainly in play as well.
In the latest mock draft from Pro Football Focus, they have the Bengals addressing the running back position, but in a shocking way. The Bengals trade up to take Bijan Robinson out of Texas in the first round.
The Bengals send Pick Nos. 28 and 163 to the Giants to move past the Cowboys and Bills and draft Robinson. This would allow Cincinnati to cut Joe Mixon and build out one of the NFL's most exciting offenses for the 2023 season.
Talk about causing a frenzy.
Robinson is not only the top runner in the draft but the case can be made he's the best prospect overall at any position. He's coming off a season where he was named first-team All-Big 12, a Unanimous All-American, and won the Doak Walker Award after racking up 1,580 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns.
During his collegiate career, Robinson also showed the skills to be an effective catcher out of the backfield. He amassed 60 receptions for 805 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 13.4 yards per catch. Defenders also had nightmares bringing him down over the last two seasons due to his 183 broken tackles.
Robinson’s combination of good speed (ran a 4.46 in the 40-yard dash), elusiveness, and power would add an electric element to the Bengals' offense. Considering guys like Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd are already on it, Robinson could make them arguably the most explosive unit league-wide.
