The Denver Broncos are making changes to their coaching staff in an area that needs it, a lot, to say the least.

Last season the Broncos had one of the worst coaching staffs outside of the defensive side of the ball. That includes the special teams, which was awful.

At the end of the season in 2022, the Broncos let go of Dwayne Stukes, the former special teams coordinator, as the job wasn't getting done.

Special teams needs to be a point of emphasis this offseason, and it seems Denver is already addressing it.

Earlier this week the Broncos signed Mike Westhoff to a deal to make him the assistant head coach behind Sean Payton. Westhoff will also overlook special teams with Ben Kotwica, who is now the teams new special teams coordinator.

Kotwica has worked with the special teams side of the ball for quite some time now. Since 2007 he has worked on special teams in the NFL, and Payton has confidence he can be a great addition to the staff.
