The Buffalo Bills could use a new running back during this off-season. The selection of Devin Singletary hasn't necessarily worked to perfection, and Josh Allen needs more from his RB going forward.
Rookie running back James Cook was a bright spot at times this season, but he probably wouldn't be the type of player to be a bell cow for this offense.
Having a balanced attack with multiple rushers makes more sense, and the Bills are among the favorites to land a superstar RB in free agency.
Buffalo is top three in odds to sign Saquon Barkley, according to SportsBetting.ag.
Buffalo sits only behind the Chicago Bears in odds to sign one of the top RBs in the NFL when healthy.
Barkley was healthy last season and had a resurgent year for the New York Giants. He looked back to his self, physically, and that's a great sign for his future. For the Bills, adding a talent like Barkley would be awesome.
That being said, it would take some finagling with the salary cap. The Bills need to invest in at least one impact free agent on their offensive line.
That task should be at the top of their to-do list for this off-season. They'll probably want to highly value an OL player early in the NFL Draft, too.
Regardless, Barkley is one of the best running backs in the NFL. Adding him to an offense with Allen, Stefon Diggs, Dawson Knox, and co. would be really exciting for fans.
