The Kansas City Chiefs were some of the favorites to represent the AFC in this year's Super Bowl. That came to fruition.

The offense looked better than some expected it would without Tyreek Hill. The defense made strides, especially in the second half of the season. Young players stepped up due to injuries, and overall, the team showed off depth that not many folks expected.

That being said, their stars led them here.

On both sides of the ball, they have some of the most impressive talent in the NFL.

On defense, defensive lineman Chris Jones leads that unit. That isn't even an argument. He was arguably the best defensive lineman in the entire NFL this season when healthy.

Jones did not win the award for the NFL's defensive player of the year, though.

In fact, the Chiefs standout got just one vote from voters. Nick Bosa won the award with 46 of the possible 50 votes.

Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick got two votes. Jets defensive lineman Quinnen Williams also received just one vote. Bosa was absolutely deserving of the award.

Alas, Jones is quite the competitor. After the Chiefs were eliminate from the postseason last year, Jones tweeted that they would be back and better in this year's playoffs.

They have been exactly that.

Accordingly, this weekend may not be too much fun for the Eagles offense when it comes to slowing Jones down. He will be on a mission to show that he also deserved the award for the league's top defender.

The Chiefs look to get a big game from their star defensive lineman to help them secure the Lombardi.
