The Buffalo Bills found an expected hero in Sunday’s Wild Card win over the Miami Dolphins.

Rookie cornerback Kaiir Elam played the best game of his young career against Miami, making huge plays in high-leverage situations. Elam finished the game with two tackles, two passes defensed, and this game-changing interception on Dolphins QB Skylar Thompson.

Elam’s interception turned the tide for the Bills in the second half. After a series of miscues, Buffalo was trailing Miami 24-20 in the third quarter. After a sack from Matt Milano, the Bills had the Dolphins backed up deep in their own territory.

Thompson aired out a deep ball on third and long resulting in the interception. The Bills would capitalize off the turnover, going it to score and reclaim the lead at 27-24. From there, Buffalo would never look back.

Late in the fourth quarter, with Miami needing a field goal to tie, the Dolphins were stuck with a 4th and 6 scenario. Thompson took the snap, looking for TE Mike Gesicki, only for Elam to step in with the game-sealing pass breakup.

Elam's performance was so good, it had many Bills media members and fans raving about him on Twitter:

Elam has had an up-and down season for the Bills, but he picked the perfect time to play like the first-rounder that Buffalo fell in love with all the way back in April.
