Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott revealed that the return of the team’ star safety Micah Hyde will have to wait at least two more weeks.
On Monday, McDermott addressed reporters on the statuses of some banged-up Bills, including Hyde. McDermott revealed that Hyde will not be available for the team’s Divisional Round matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Hyde has been on injured reserve since Week 2’s win over the Tennessee Titans, when he suffered a scary neck injury. That being said, Hyde’s 21-day practice window opened last Wednesday, in which he made his long-awaited return to Bills practice.
Hyde’s return should be considered a longshot at this point, especially after undergoing a neck procedure in October. However, McDermott knows better than to bet against Hyde. His quote ahead of the team’s wild card win shines a light on Hyde’s toughness.
“You never count Micah Hyde out.”
