For all the negatives that occurred at the end the season, the Miami Dolphins still managed to make the playoffs.
The good news is their quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, will be around to see where this roster can go.
Stemming from one of the best and most active off-season's in the NFL, the Dolphins acquired a number of noteworthy players. WR Tyreek Hill, OT Terron Armstead as well as Edge Bradley Chubb in the middle of the season.
However, it was another addition to the offensive line that didn't get as much press, but plenty of results.
C Connor Williams signed a two-year, $14 million deal with the Dolphins. $7.5 million in guaranteed money.
The move was a bigger shock with the announcement that head coach Mike McDaniel would play the long-time guard at center. A position he tried in Dallas with disastrous results.
With the Dolphins, however, Williams yielded fantastic results in his first season in Miami. Helping the offensive line to allow less sacks and QB pressures from the previous season.
Williams finished as one of the highest-graded centers according to PFF. Grading at 78.4 overall and only allowing three sacks on 1,056 snaps played.
Even with such large names like Hill or Armstead, Williams became the Miami Dolphins pleasant surprise. Helping to get closet to solidifying the offensive line overall for the first time in many seasons.
At a bargain rate, at that.
