The NFL Honors were last night. Handing out all the major awards such as MVP, Offensive/Defensive Players of the Year, Walter Payton Man of the Year and the 2023 NFL Hall of Fame recipients. And the Miami Dolphins were no exception.
Dolphins great LB Zach Thomas has had to wait 15 years for his honor but is now among the latest selections into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The news delivered to him by fellow Hall of Famer and former coach Jimmy Johnson.
A 13-year career, 12 of which were in Miami, Thomas has one of the greatest careers in Dolphins history. Setting many franchise marks. Some that still stand today.

- 7 Pro Bowl selections
- 5 All-Pro selections
- 1,734 career tackles (1,640 with the Dolphins; 1st)
- 74 career tackles for loss (70 with the Dolphins; 3rd)
- 16 forced fumbles (3rd)
- 48 career pass breakups (45 with the Dolphins; 7th)
- 168 career starts (6th)
Thomas is now the 11th player in Miami Dolphins history who's majority career was spent with the franchise.
There are still a handful of other Dolphins players that are Hall of Fame worthy who have yet to be enshrined. Such as Dick Anderson, Garo Yepremian, Bob Kuechenberg, Mark Clayton and (eventually) Cameron Wake to name a few.
Zach Thomas will officially be immortalized on May 25th of this year.
