It is Dallas Cowboys playoff game week. Dallas is set to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wildcard — a team that the Cowboys have become very familiar with.
Dallas and Tampa Bay have had their fair share of matchups since Tom Brady signed with the Buccaneers. Perhaps most notably was the opening game thriller in 2021, where Dak Prescott and Brady put on a show.
Now, the two teams meet again. This time with higher stakes on the game: a win or go home scenario. Get your popcorn ready, as the battle will be broadcasted on Monday Night Football.
Stage set for Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys must do something that they have never done before to advance in the postseason. That is beating Tom Brady.
Dallas has faced a Tom Brady-led team seven times. Brady has come out victorious all seven times. In fact, Brady has thrown for 1,945 yards and 15 touchdowns in said games. That is ridiculous.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is well-aware of that fact. But, he doesn't believe that means anything heading into Monday night's showdown. Instead, he is looking at the game as 'Cowboys versus Buccaneers', not 'Cowboys versus Brady.'
"Give us a challenge to do something we haven't done before and that's beat Tom Brady," Jones said during his appearance on 105.3 The Fan this week.
Jones appears to be fired up. Despite how the regular season concluded. He sees this as an opportunity for the Cowboys to rebound and turn their fortunes around in the postseason.
"There’s no doubt in my mind that as a team that we can come back and take this nightmare, or whatever you want to call it, and turn it into a plus," Jones said following the loss to the Washington Commanders.
Mike McCarthy is also hoping to see his team respond. There's no better time for the Cowboys to answer the call in that regard than the NFL playoffs against Tom Brady.
"When you get kicked in the ass or punched in the mouth, you have a chance to respond. I have great confidence in our team that we will respond," said McCarthy.
The stage is set for the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. It's an opportunity to make a run in the playoffs — and finally beat the legendary Brady.
