CeeDee Lamb has had a breakout season with the Dallas Cowboys. Lamb has emerged as a bonafide go-to target for Dak Prescott, making Dallas a legitimate contender in the NFC.
The former first-round draft pick and Pro Bowl wideout is becoming exactly what the Cowboys need. He has grabbed 102 passes for 1,307 yards and eight touchdowns with one more game remaining in the regular season.
He is the third player in Cowboys history to grab 100 catches in one season. The other two are among the best to wear the uniform for America's Team.
Despite the success that Lamb and the Cowboys have had on offense this season, Lamb believes there is another level for the team to get to. And that's scary for the rest of the league.
In fact, Lamb believes the Cowboys are close to reaching another gear.
Lamb sends message
The Cowboys are averaging the most points per game in the NFL with Dak Prescott behind center. There is no doubt that Dallas has one of the best offenses in football when No. 4 is clicking.
Dallas has had big offensive explosions and flashes of being unstoppable. But, in Lamb's mind, they haven't had that perfect game yet. That is still something that he and the Cowboys are still in search of with the playoffs around the corner.
Fortunately, the star wideout thinks the Cowboys are close to doing just that.
"I don't feel like we've played our best, but I mean we're pretty much close as f–k," Lamb said on Thursday.
Turnovers have undoubtedly been a problem. As have penalties. Those have put a bit of a black eye on an otherwise stellar unit. However, many of those — especially the interceptions — have been flukey.
There is reason to believe that those turnovers and other self-inflicted mistakes come to an end. When the Cowboys are clicking — which has been the case more often than not with Prescott throwing the rock to Lamb — they are difficult to stop.
CeeDee Lamb is a major reason why the Dallas Cowboys are among the most dangerous offensive teams in football. He believes there is another level for the team to reach with the playoffs coming. That should scare the rest of the league.
