If there's one thing the Dallas Cowboys have done well during the NFL's initial free agency period is finagle contracts in their favor.

Add edge rusher Dante Fowler to the list as details of his new deal have surfaced per ESPN's Todd Archer.

It's a one-year deal with a max value of $4.25 million. Here's how it breaks down.

The base salary for Fowler is $1.5 million which includes a $1 million signing bonus and an active roster bonus of $500,000.

Fowler's other possible earnings will come with these incentives.

Eight sacks and the Cowboys make the playoffs: $500k

10 sacks and the Cowboys make the playoffs: $500k

55% of defensive snaps played and the Cowboys make the playoffs: $250k

Fowler's cap hit for 2023 is $3 million.

In 2022, Fowler recorded six sacks for the Cowboys without logging a single start. So, if he can increase his role, maximizing his deal will become a little easier with his current level of play.

Once again, a masterful job by the Cowboys' front office with this deal.
