The NFL draft is rapidly approaching, and the Cincinnati Bengals need a few fresh faces on defense.

Pro Football Focus has one in mind that they feel resembles someone that's already on the Bengals roster. They recently listed defensive tackle B.J. Hill as the suitable player comp to LSU's Jaquelin Roy.

Roy is a solid, if unexciting, defensive tackle prospect who probably could have used another year of development.

That may be true about Roy, but make no mistake about it, he can play some ball.

Roy finished with 18 tackles (four tackles for loss) and two sacks as a freshman. The last two seasons in Baton Rouge for Roy saw him take his game to the next level.

In 2021, Roy racked up 30 tackles (six tackles for loss), 1.5 sacks, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. He was one of the strongest forces on LSU's defense last season with 49 tackles (3.5 tackles for loss), a half sack, and a fumble recovery.

Roy's versatility along the defensive mirrors that of Hill. He logged 353 snaps in the A-gap, 977 in the B-gap, 98 over the tackle, and outside the tackle at LSU per PFF. Hill has registered 1st in the A-gap, 1,903 in the B-gap, 573 over the tackle, and 151 outside the tackle during his career.

Hill and Roy are also compatible in size. Roy is 6'3" and 305 pounds and Hill is 6'3" and 311 pounds.

In the NFL, Roy will likely be a 3-technique who can also play some 5-technique and rush on the edge. Roy has a quick first step and active hands that help him defeat blockers when he uses his power simultaneously.

Depending on what the Bengals need at the time he's still on the board, Roy would be a nice draft pick for them.
