Rumors about a potential Deandre Hopkins trade have been swirling around the league all offseason. However, with the draft less than two weeks away, Hopkins is still a member of the Arizona Cardinals.
Hopkins recently appeared on the All Things Covered podcast, where he was asked to use facial expressions and body language to respond to potential landing spots.
The first team mentioned was the New England Patriots, where he seemed to have a negative reaction. He shook his head and turned away from the camera, implying that is not somewhere he is interested in playing.
Next was the Buffalo Bills. He nodded yes, indicating he would welcome a trade to Buffalo.
Third, he was asked about the New York Jets and gave a similar negative reaction that he gave for the Patriots.
Finally, Patrick Mahomes and the Kanas City Chiefs were brought up. He seemed very happy about that destination and seemingly indicated that he would welcome a trade to the defending Super Bowl champions.
While trading for Hopkins is not something the Chiefs need to do, he would be a great addition to a relatively inexperienced wide receiver room.
Hopkins is set to make $19.45 million in 2023, and $14.92 million in 2024. If the Cardinals trade him before June 1, they create a cap charge of $22.6 million.
Additionally, Hopkins tweeted, “Hopkins doesn’t want a raise – Nuk” earlier today, before deleting it shortly after.
