The Cincinnati Bengals hosted veteran quarterback Trevor Siemian for a free agent visit in April.
Less than a week ago, Siemian signed a one-year deal with Cincinnati, giving them nearly a decade's worth of experience and 30 career starts behind Joe Burrow.
Of course, all the stars had to align for this to happen, and Siemian explained recently what made him sign with Cincinnati.
"I just think I just wanted to find a good fit," said Siemian. "Somewhere I can come in and contribute. This checked all those boxes."
The Bengals got an up close and personal look at what Siemian can do back in 2016. In Week 3, Siemian threw for 312 yards and four touchdowns in a 29-17 win for the Broncos over Cincinnati.
Siemian tasted Super Bowl glory as a rookie with the Denver Broncos as a backup to Hall of Famer Peyton Manning. As the secondary plan to Burrow, Siemian could do it again in 2023, the Bengals are that good.
Cincinnati doesn't want Siemian to have to play a lot, but if he does, the stability is certainly there, and he could bridge the gap nicely.
