The New York Giants got their schedule for their 2023 campaign last week. There's plenty of highlights from it, including timely divisional games as well as reunions with familiar faces.
New York believes they can contend for the NFC East crown and make wave sin the postseason once again. They overachieved last year, so it isn't out of the question at all this season.
What are the biggest takeaways from the schedule unveiling, though?
- Their matchups with the Philadelphia Eagles
- The timeliness of these games is quite intriguing. The Giants will play the Eagles in two of their final three games of the regular season. Those two games could heavily sway the divisional champion. The Dallas Cowboys are also expected to contend for the NFC East crown, but the Giants and Eagles proved that they were the front runners a season ago.
- Aaron Rodgers has his first tase of New York rivalry
- The New York Jets will face the Giants in week 8 of the season. It will be the first time that the G-men will face off against Rodgers with him dawning Jets green rather than Packers green. It's sure to be a gritty matchup with two solid defenses going at one another.
- Homecoming for Darren Waller
- The Giants will face off with the Las Vegas Raiders in week 9 of the season. This will be the return to LV for new Giants TE Darren Waller. The Raiders shipped off Waller to NYG in a deal this off-season. He will assuredly want some revenge deep down. Expect a massive statistical output from him that week.
