Monty Rice was one of the most productive LBs in the NFL last season, on a per-snap basis. He had the 3rd-highest run stop rate among LBs, and the 7th-lowest missed tackle rate. He works quickly through traffic and is a strong run defender, with great short area bursts, and nice stopping power that helps him finish tackles. Rice has a great juke move that he uses to evade blocks at the second level, but he struggles when he lets blockers get into his frame. He can take his game to the next level with some better anticipation when reading blocks and movements on the line. Rice is a solid coverage LB, especially with how decisive he is. His only real downside is just a lack of experience, causing him to bite hard on fakes, then not know where to recover to.

Strengths:
