Zach Harrison is a freak athlete that was a 4-year contributor at Ohio State, improving every season. He has absurd length, boasting the longest arms of any defender in the 2023 NFL Draft. Harrison is a great linear athlete with an explosive first step, giving him an edge over offensive lineman, just by the sheer speed + reach advantage. His speed to power rushing technique is his best move, but outside of that, he doesn't have much else in his arsenal. That's most likely why an athlete of his caliber fell to the 3rd round. He struggles to bend around the edge, forcing him to go inside to attack the QB. If he ever wants to reach his potential, he is going to have to develop some counter moves that he can comfortably transition to when speed to power won't work.

Strengths:

  1. Size and Athleticism: Zach Harrison possesses excellent physical attributes, including size, strength, and speed. He has the potential to overpower offensive linemen and disrupt plays in the backfield.
  2. Pass-Rushing Ability: Harrison has shown promising pass-rushing skills. He has good technique, burst off the line of scrimmage, and the agility to get around offensive linemen and pressure the quarterback.
  3. Versatility: He has the ability to play multiple positions on the defensive line, making him a valuable asset for the team's scheme and allowing for flexibility in play-calling.

Weaknesses:

  1. Technique refinement: Like many young players, Harrison may still need to refine his technique to maximize his potential. This could involve improving his hand placement, leverage, and overall consistency in executing his moves.
  2. Run defense: While he has the physical tools to be a force against the run, there might be areas for improvement in terms of shedding blocks and setting the edge to contain outside runs effectively.
  3. Awareness and Instincts: Developing a better understanding of offensive schemes and reacting quickly to different situations can help enhance his overall impact on the field.
