The Kansas City Chiefs got some news that they wish they hadn't gotten because you never want to be in the situation in the first place, but the news definitely makes them feel better about it all.
The Chiefs announced on Sunday that stud receiver Kadarius Toney left practice early with a knee issue. Toney has a history of injuries, so initially, the thoughts on his situation weren't great. Andy Reid on Sunday said Toney "tweaked" his knee.
On Tuesday, he gave a more in-depth update.
"As far as injuries go, Kadarius had surgery on his knee this morning for cartilage, and it should be relatively quick as we go here," Reid said to the media following camp. "He wanted to get that thing taken care of."
KT missed time last season when he came over from the New York Giants with a hamstring issue. This just adds to that.
"Listen, I look at it the other [way], and I go, 'I'm glad they caught it and that it happened this early where he can get himself back, and we've got a lot of time still left,'" Reid continued. "He's a smart kid, so he picks this stuff up fairly easily. I don't think he's going to have a tough time getting back in. It's just getting back into football shape."
Let's hope he gets everything taken care of, but this could be a huge blow to the Chiefs, as their WR1 is out.
