This is definitely not the way the Detroit Lions were hoping the first day of joint practices with the Jaguars would go. Two of the Lions biggest offensive weapons got hurt early on in the day.
Amon-Ra St. Brown suffered what looked to be a lower leg injury on his right leg. He got his ankle taped up and did some jogging in the end zone before getting his helmet back. He did not go back in during 7 on 7 drills.
Update: St. Brown did not go to the locker room once the team got back to offense vs defense drills following the kick return drills. He did not return to the field either.
As for Jameson Williams, he was running a deep route and stopped mid run and began holding the back of his right leg in the hamstring area before collapsing. He was able to walk off on his power, but was taken off the field and to the trainers room.
We do not know the severity of either injury at this time. Missing time is something Jameson Williams just can't afford to do right now. These preseason games are a big part of his development before he's slated to serve a six game suspension.
We will have more updates on both guys as news comes in.
