The New Orleans Saints had their first preseason game last Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. They won, but rookie running back Kendre Miller exited the game early

Miller escaped a major injury, which was a great sign. On Thursday, Miller took it a step further by returning to practice.

The Saints will be without Alvin Kamara for the first three games of the regular season. So, Jamaal Williams, who led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns in 2022, will take up the slack while he's absent.

This also gives Miller a huge opportunity to step in and get more reps with Kamara on the shelf, which could lead to a bigger role once the Saints have their full arsenal of running backs.

New Orleans will certainly be cautious with Miller. But it's good to see that he's back in pads already.
