The Dallas Cowboys will kick off their 2023 NFL season on the road as they draw another Week 1 match-up against the New York Giants.

Hours before kickoff, the team announced its inactive players list, which includes multiple draft picks of this year's NFL Draft.

Fourth-round draft pick DE Viliami Fehoko Jr., sixth-round CB Eric Scott Jr., and seventh-round WR Jalen Brooks will all be inactive and have to wait to make their regular season debuts. Check out the complete list below.

Cowboys Inactives vs. Giants, Week 1

  • LG Tyler Smith
  • S Donovan Wilson
  • QB Trey Lance
  • CB Jourdan Lewis
  • CB Eric Scott Jr.*
  • DL Viliami Fehoko Jr.*
  • WR Jalen Brooks*

The three rookie draft picks (marked with an asterisk) being inactive is a testament to how deep the Cowboys' roster is ahead of the season. All of them would have a tough time getting reps on offense or defense.

And yet, this could prove very relevant on special teams, where the unit is expected to be one of the smallest in the entire NFL.
