Jonathan Taylor returns to practice with the Indianapolis Colts after an offseason full of tension between him and the team.
Wednesday's injury report was the longest we've seen from the Colts this season. Seven players were given the "did not participate" designation for the team's walk-through on Wednesday. Because there was no practice, the team stated that the designations were "estimation of a player's participation if there was a practice." One of the players on the injury report who was listed as a full participant was RB Jonathan Taylor. This was a significant development as we all wait and see if Taylor is able to make his season debut this week against the Titans.
Thursday Injury Report:
Full Partipant:
- Mo Alie-Cox
- Quenton Nelson
- Ryan Kelly
- Jonathan Taylor
Ryan Kelly seems to be progressing towards finally clearing the NFL's concussion protocol. Quenton Nelson and Mo Alie-Cox progressed to full paretipants after being listed as DNP for yesterday's walkthrough. And of course the star of this weeks injury report RB Jonathan Taylor was listed as a full participant for the 2nd staight day and returned to the practice field for the first time this year today.
Light Partipant:
- DeForest Buckner
- Tyquan Lewis
Good signs for both DT DeForest Buckner and Tyquan Lewis as they progressed from DNP to LP today. Buckner has shown that he doesn't need much practice during the week to still suit up on game day. Him returning to practice Thursday was earlier than we saw him last week even, which makes me optimistic for his availability for Week 5.
Did Not Practice:
- Shaquille Leonard
- Kwity Paye
- Bernhard Raimann
A much smaller DNP list for the Colts on Thursday which is great news. They still have three starters on the list though DE Kwity Paye, LT Bernhard Raimann and LB Shaquille Leonard. Things are starting to look bleak for Paye and Raimann's availability for Week 5 as both haven't been able to progress to practicing in the NFL's concussion protocol. And we will have to wait and see for Leonard who was newly added this week with a groin injury.
