Wednesday's practice for the Indianapolis Colts saw three players make solid progress as they attempt to return to the field this Sunday.
As all three players who missed Week 5, Bernhard Raimann, Kwity Paye, and Shaquille Leonard were full participants.
Thursday's practice will be another chance for Raimann and Paye to progress through the NFL's concussion protocol. If both are able to be full participants, it would do wonders for their chances of returning this Sunday. Another name that is important to watch this week is starting RT Braden Smith, who did not practice Wednesday with a wrist and foot designation. Getting him back at practice either today (Thursday) or Friday is pretty important for his chances of playing against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
Thursday's Injury Report:
Did Not Practice:
N/A
The Colts had all players currently on their active roster able to practive today for the first time since Week 1 of this season. Getting as healthy as possible while QB Anthony Richardson is sidelined will be big for getting the most out of backup QB Gardner Minshew.
Limited Partipant:
- Mo Alie-Cox
- Braden Smith
Both Cox and Smith returned to practice today afert missing Wednesday. This is a good sign for Smith's potential availability on Sunday. Cox only being a LP isn't enough to progress him in the NFL's concussion protocol as he would need two full practices ahead of their game Sunday, which to me puts his status in doubt.
Full Partipant:
- Shaquille Leonard
- Kwity Paye
- Bernhard Raimann
Paye and Raimann seem to be making significant progress through the NFL's concussion protocol. I'd now say that both seem more likely than not to make their return to the field this Sunday vs. the Jaguars. Leonard also seems to be progressing towards making his return this week after missing Week 5 with a groin injury.
