The writing was on the wall when it came to the relationship between Desmond King and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
And now the pen has been put to paper:
No More King's
Despite their best efforts to try and find a trade partner, it appears no one was interested in giving up capital for King. That forced Pittsburgh to choose option B, officially releasing King to make way for a recently acquired rookie on the active roster.
Many were surprised at the move, thinking Pittsburgh would keep King for his return ability if nothing else, especially in light of some of the struggles at the positions incumbent starter: Gunner Olszewski.
That was not the case however, with Pittsburgh basically working a one for one swap, releasing King and adding Rush.
Expect King to find his footing rather quickly however, adding experience and physicality to someone's secondary.
